Privacy

This page describes everything this site does with information about you. It is short because there is very little to describe: no account, no profile, no analytics, and — unless you use the subscribe form — nothing about you kept in our database at all.

What we collect if you subscribe

An email address, and nothing else. Not which page you were reading, not which city you were looking at, and not which language you chose.

Who receives it

Brevo (Sendinblue SA, Paris), which holds the mailing list and sends the mail. Your address is not stored on this site at any point, and it does not reach the list until you click the confirmation link Brevo sends you. If you never click it, your address exists nowhere.

What lets us write to you

Your consent, given by clicking that confirmation link. The click is also the record of it, and Brevo holds that record.

Leaving the list

Every message we send carries an unsubscribe link. It takes effect at Brevo, immediately, and needs nothing from us. Your address stays on the list until you use it, and goes when you do — there is no other schedule, because there is nothing else holding it.

How we stop the form being abused

So that nobody can use it to send mail to strangers, the form keeps a count of recent attempts from your connection, for at most an hour. Your IP address itself is never stored — what is kept is a one-way scrambled version of it, mixed with a secret, which cannot be turned back into an address. The basis for this is our legitimate interest in keeping the form from being abused.

Cookies

One, and only while the subscribe form is on the page: a security token that stops somebody else's site submitting the form on your behalf. It is a random value, it says nothing about who you are, and it is not used to recognise you or to follow you anywhere. There is no analytics on this site and nothing here is shared with advertisers.

Your rights, and reaching us

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent at any time. In practice all of these are the unsubscribe link, because the list is the only thing there is. You also have the right to complain to the Commission for Personal Data Protection (КЗЛД) in Sofia.
